Watch Football in a Whole New Way!

Scoreboard! is a game which uses the scores of football games to fill out a Scoreboard Game Card.  After every game, the last digit of your team's final score is knocked off your card.  The first player to eliminate every number on their scorecard wins!

Each Scoreboard game has up to 16 players and each player is randomly assigned two NFL teams (no, you can't choose your own).  Those teams are yours for the entire season until someone wins.  It can take as few as five weeks for someone to win, but it is much more likely to go well into the season.  It's even possible that the season ends without a winner, in which case the prize goes to the player or players who have eliminated the most numbers on their card.

Here's an example of a card belonging to John Doe.  He has been randomly assigned the Jets and the Cardinals.

Let's say the Jets won their Week One game 24-13 and the Cardinals lost 21-10.  The last digit is used from each score, so John Doe's card eliminate both the 4 and 0.  Those numbers are out of play for the rest of the season.

Now let's go to Week Two.  Let's say the Jets lost 28-14, but the Cardinals won 17-3.  Since John Doe already knocked off the 4, nothing happens as a result of the Jets game, but he does get to eliminate the 7 thanks to the Cardinals.

Play continues until one team has eliminated each of the 10 digits on their card.  Every week, you'll receive an email with the current standings, so you'll always know how you're doing.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

There are openings in three games--a $5 game, a $20 game and, for serious players, a $100 game.  You can play in any or all of the games.  Each game is limited to 16 players.  If more people want to play, there will be additional games.  If a game doesn't fill, the prizes will be adjusted based on the number of players.  

HOW MUCH CAN I WIN?

All entry fees are paid out in prizes.  It's winner-take-all, so if you win a full game, you'll win 15 times your money!  Win the $5 league, you'll get the first prize of $80.  Win the $20 league and you win the $320 prize.  Play for the big money and win the $100 league and you'll win $1,600!

WHY CAN'T I PICK MY OWN TEAMS?

This isn't a traditional football pool.  Think of it like the squares game that you've probably played for the Super Bowl.  Teams are assigned randomly so that each team is represented and every player has different teams.

CAN I PLAY IN MORE THAN ONE GAME?

Yes!  And if you do, you can request different teams in each game.  You won't be able to choose the teams, but your teams will be assigned so that you don't have the same teams in different games if you don't want.

CAN I PLAY IN GAMES AGAINST MY FRIENDS?

Yes!  Just be sure and indicated that in your entry email and you'll be placed in the same games as the people you want to play with.

WHAT IF TWO PLAYERS KNOCK OUT ALL OF THEIR NUMBERS IN THE SAME DAY?

It isn't likely, but there could be a tie, with one or more players knocking out all of their numbers on the same day.  The tie breaker is simple.  First, it's based on the day of the game, with the real life teams that played first breaking the tie.  If there's more than one game scheduled that day, the tie is broken by using the real life team with the earliest scheduled start time.   IMPORTANT:  Any games that are scheduled to start within 1 hour of one another are considered the same start time.  So if your team is playing in a game with a 1pm Pacific start, it is considered the same start time as if your team's game has a 1:20 pm Pacific start time.  As it becomes relevant later in the season, the tie breaking procedure will become very clear, but if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

1)  Send an email to Scoreboard@OnTheHopSports.com.  Be sure to include:

  • Your Name

  • A Fun Player Name (optional.  You can compete using your real name.  Keep it clean)

  • Which games you want to play in:  $5, $20, $100

  • If you want different teams in each game (if you're playing multiple games)

  • The names of any other players you want to play against in the same game​
